Comic book writer Michael Frizell is back with his second edition of a series about Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Massachusetts.
The “Female Force: Elizabeth Warren #2” Amazon page indicates the senator works in the comic to “relieve the burden of crushing student loan debt which holds back prosperity for millions as they struggle in the ragged edge of the middle class to achieve the American dream.”
Missouri State University’s director of student learning services, Frizell’s new biography comic published by TidalWave Entertainment came out Nov. 6, according to a news release issued this morning. Artist Pablo Martinena designed the comic.
“It’s not particularly engaging to watch someone arguing on the floor of Congress or pitching her ideas to a committee for 22 pages,” Frizell said in the release. “I had to ensure that new readers who had not read our first issue understand who she is and get a glimpse as to why she thinks the way she does.
“We associate comic books with action, but I wanted to add a depth of characterization that only nonfiction stories can bring to a reader.”
In the first volume, Frizell wrote about Warren taking on Wall Street and her rise to power in Congress.
Through TidalWave Entertainment, Frizell this spring penned “Fame: Chris Pratt,” a comic about the lead actor of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.” Frizell’s past political comics focused on Jeb Bush, Rand Paul and Hillary Clinton, among others.
