MSU dean resigns, stays on to teach

Posted online
Adele Newson-Horst, dean of Missouri State University’s College of Arts and Letters, has resigned for health and personal reasons, the school announced Monday.

Her last day is May 30. A search for a replacement dean begins immediately, according to an MSU news release.

Newson-Horst will have a paid leave of absence this summer and will take on different duties in the fall, according to the release. Her reassignment will include teaching in the English department and conducting academic-related administrative work, directed by MSU’s provost office.

Newson-Horst joined MSU as dean last July. She previously worked at University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh as special project director to the provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs. Prior to that, she was associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Oshkosh.[[In-content Ad]]
