MSU College of Business dean accepts new job

David Meinert, Missouri State University College of Business associate dean, will take over for Stephanie Bryant in an interim capacity, officials announced a week before reopening COB’s Glass Hall.

Bryant, who’s led the college as dean since August 2011, starts in January as executive vice president and chief accreditation officer for the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business in Tampa, Florida.

Bryant spearheaded the $33.8 million renovation and expansion of Glass Hall and its new Robert Gourley Student Success Center. Officials are scheduled to hold dedication ceremonies on Oct. 26, according to a news release.

“It is an exciting time for the college,” Meinert said in the release. “We will leverage our new facilities to strengthen our innovative programs and expand experiential learning opportunities. I look forward to working with our exceptional faculty to prepare the next generation of business leaders.”

The Glass Hall renovation and expansion creates a 40,000-square-foot addition, a simulation of the New York Stock Exchange floor and architectural improvements, including more glass features.

Meinert has served as COB associate dean since 2008 and has worked for MSU since 1990. He’s also director of the school’s executive master of business administration and executive master of health administration programs, according to to the release.

Starting in fall 2018, the university will conduct a search for a permanent COB dean.
