Danny Arnold, dean of College of Business Administration at Missouri State University, will leave his position to become the dean of the Nelson Rusche College of Business at Stephen F. Austin State University.
Arnold will join the SFA faculty Aug. 1, pending approval by the university's board of regents, according to an SFA news release. SFA is located in Nacogdoches, Texas.
MSU has not released an official statement.
Andrea Mostyn, MSU assistant director of university communications, said questions are being referred to SFA and that it's standard procedure for the hiring school to promote changes of the sort. July 9 will be his last day at MSU, she said.
Arnold started at MSU on April 1, 2009, according to previous
SBJ coverage.
According to the SFA release, Arnold worked as an assistant marketing professor at SFA from 1976 to 1979.
"I am very happy to welcome him back to our university and look forward to the strong leadership he will provide our business students and faculty," SFA President Baker Pattillo said in the release.
Arnold was the subject of an
SBJ Five Questions article on April 13, 2009. In the article, Arnold said MSU is "an excellent quality school" and said the university "was by far the best one in the country" out of dean positions available in 2008.[[In-content Ad]]
