Jim Baker, vice president of research and economic development at MSU, and Brad Bodenhausen, executive vice president of the chamber, will speak at the Greater Ozarks International Trade Association’s quarterly meeting Wednesday at the Tower Club, 901 St. Louis St.
Baker and Bodenhausen will give an overview of the chamber’s China program that was established to encourage business and economic development connections between the Springfield region and China. The program builds on MSU’s connections to the country, including its branch campus in Dalian, China.
The chamber has signed cooperating agreements with the chambers of commerce in Dalian and Zhengzhou in China, and annual trade missions give local leaders a first-hand look at the developments taking place there.
Hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will be available at 5:30 p.m., and the program will begin at 6:30 p.m.
The cost is $25 per person, or event-goers can purchase a pass to four GOITA meetings, including this one, for $80.
Attendees must R.S.V.P by Monday by calling (417) 836-5685 or e-mailing tarahorton@missouristate.edu.
