The longtime marketing director of Springfield accounting firm KPM CPAs PC has been hired as corporate relations specialist for the Missouri State University College of Business.
Vickie Hicks, who held her position with KPM CPAs for nearly a decade, is tasked at MSU with developing and managing corporate relations to help undergraduate and graduate business students receive internships, cooperative education and part- and full-time employment. Hicks, who began working in her new role at MSU on Dec. 17, also will manage the annual College of Business Career Fair and work with COB Dean Stephanie Bryant to promote corporate interactions with faculty members and enhance alumni relationships, according to a news release.
“Her extensive knowledge of the Missouri business community will be an invaluable asset to us as we seek to build deeper relationships with recruiters and with our alumni,” Bryant said of Hicks in the release.
Hicks, a member of Springfield Business Journal's 2008 class of Most Influential Women and 2004 class of 40 Under 40, began her career with MSU working in the school's Office of Admissions and the Career Center. She also spent two years working as public relations/development coordinator for the Wonders of Wildlife Museum before joining KPM.
