The Missouri State University Board of Governors is slated this week to vote on tuition increases, though the bumps are largely negligible, according to a board finance committee proposal.
For the Springfield campus, the board will vote whether to:
- increase tuition per credit hour for undergraduate Missouri residents to $204 from $200.48;
- bump undergraduate nonMissouri resident credit hours to $420 from $412;
- raise tuition per credit hour for Missouri-resident graduate students to $247 from $242; and
- institute a $10 increase on graduate nonMissouri residents to $494 per credit hour.
For Greenwood Laboratory School, the board will vote on a $300 school year tuition increase for kindergarten students to $5,300; a $300 increase for grades 1-8 to $5,300; and a $415 bump to $5,605 for grades 9-12, according to the board
agenda.
At MSU-West Plains, board members would vote to increase tuition per credit hour for undergraduate Missouri residents by $3 to $114, and rise tuition by $6 to $228 for undergraduate nonMissouri residents.
According to the agenda, tuition increases cannot exceed the consumer price index for the state's fiscal 2014 budget, which is 1.7 percent.
If approved by the board, the increased tuition rates would go into effect July 1.
