MSU board to vote on 3.5% tuition increase

Posted online
Missouri State University’s Board of Governors will consider a 3.5 percent increase in student fees when it meets Friday in West Plains.

Under the proposed basic fee schedule, Missouri resident undergraduate students at the Springfield campus would pay $179 per credit hour and Missouri nonresidents would pay $349. Missouri resident graduate students would pay $206 per graduate credit hour, while nonresidents would pay $402.

School officials say the tuition increase would keep the school in the same position relative to the per hour cost of other Missouri state institutions.

Basic fees for the West Plains campus would remain unchanged: $102 per credit hour for state residents and $204 for nonresidents.

The board also is expected to vote on several work contracts for construction of the $67 million JQH Arena, including the underground electrical and plumbing work.

Completion of the arena is slated for fall 2008.[[In-content Ad]]
