MSU on June 11 mailed about 5,000 season-ticket brochures to businesses and individuals. As of June 9, all 22 private suites at JQH Arena had been leased, and 30 courtside season seats, 29 loge seats and 400 “Premium One” seats had been reserved, according to an MSU news release.
“Premium One” lower-level seats are in rows 1–6 for men’s basketball and rows 1–3 for women’s basketball.
Season-ticket reservations will be taken through April. Seats then will be assigned by a points system and through individual meetings with ticketholders.
Points will be given to ticketholders for the number of years they’ve had season passes, their contributions to the school’s athletics program, their contributions to MSU, and whether they’re alumni of the school. Those with more points will be allowed to select seats first.
MSU also intends to schedule individual meetings next year with those interested in purchasing season tickets. One-on-one visits will help ticketholders make the best decisions, according to the release. MSU anticipates holding about 3,000 meetings. “So far, we have had a great response on season tickets,” said Brent Dunn, director of athletics devleopment at MSU. “In almost every category, we are ahead of our expectations.”
Additional information about season tickets and the arena is available at a new MSU Web site, www.missouristate.edu/arena.
The $67 million arena is under construction east of MSU’s Hammons Student Center and will be finished by the 2008–09 basketball season. It will have more than 11,000 seats, a Hall of Fame, a team souvenir store and a ticket office.
