MSSU, OTC provide help in government business

Missouri Southern State University and Ozarks Technical Community College are teaming up to provide training sessions on doing business with the government, and the first session is scheduled Friday.

The training, specifically designed for Springfield-area small businesses, includes seminars on how to locate and obtain contracts from local, state and federal government agencies.

The two schools will also provide one-on-one counseling by appointment for businesses through MSSU's Heartland Procurement Technical Assistance Center, which is one of 90 such centers nationwide and is funded in part by the U.S. Department of Defense.

The first seminar, "Winning Government Contracts - The First Steps," will be presented on Friday from 9 a.m. to noon in room 10 of OTC's Center for Workforce Development, 614 N. Washington Ave. Registration begins at 8:45 a.m., and MSSU and OTC are providing the seminar at no charge to the public.
