Scott George, president and CEO of Mid-America Dental & Hearing Center in Mount Vernon, is the National Federal of Independent Business 2009 Small Business Champion for Missouri.
George is an 18-year NFIB member and serves on the Missouri Leadership Council, which advises the association on small business issues. He has testified before the Missouri General Assembly and the U.S. Congress on regulatory fairness, workers' compensation and health care reform.
"Scott has proven himself an invaluable member of NFIB," NFIB Missouri Director Brad Jones said in a news release. "He has been extraordinarily generous with his time, making frequent trips to Jefferson City to testify on small business issues, and he always encourages other business owners to join the association."
George also regularly contributes to NFIB's Small Business Legal Center and Young Entrepreneur Foundation, which promotes free enterprise, and serves on the board of NFIB Missouri's political action committee, the Save America's Free Enterprise Trust.
"Scott is a real asset to NFIB Missouri," Jones said in the release. "We're the voice of small business in Jefferson City, but it's members like Scott who help our voice be heard."
