Mother's Brewing Co. has been ranked as the seventh fastest growing craft brewery in the U.S.

The ranking, published by The New Yorker magazine, is based off recently released 2012 data by the Brewers Association.

According to the data, the Springfield brewery produced 5,773 barrels of beer in 2012, a 148 percent increase from 2,331 in 2011, the company's first year.

Nashville, Tenn.-based Blackstone Brewery claims the top spot, with 7,740 barrels in 2012, a 1,190 percent increase compared to 600 barrels in 2011.

Only one other Missouri brewery made the fast-growth list. O'Fallon Brewery ranked 27th with 2012 production of 10,614 barrels, a 64 percent increase from 6,489 in 2011.

Of the 50 largest craft breweries in the U.S., Kansas City-based Boulevard Brewing Co. ranked No. 12, with 2012 production of 173,793 barrels, and St. Louis-based Schlafly ranked 43rd with 2012 production of 49,442 barrels, according to the report.
