Mother's Brewing Co. has joined with 37 other craft breweries nationwide to participate in the Ales for ALS campaign benefiting the ALS Therapy Development Institute.
The creators of the campaign, B.T. Loftus Ranches Inc. and Hopunion LLC, have provided participating breweries with a proprietary, experimental hop blend, according to the Ales for ALS
website.
With the
hop blend, Mother's is brewing an American pale ale to be released at its tasting room, 215 S. Grant Ave., on June 14 at 4 p.m. The Springfield company will donate $1 from every pint sold to ALS Therapy Development Institute, which supports amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gehrig's disease, according to a news release.
"We are excited to partner with ALS TDI on such a great campaign. It’s a great cause and we are happy and honored to be a part of it," Mother's Director of Sales and Marketing Jeremy Wicks said in the release.
Mother's is the only craft brewery in Missouri to participate in Ales for ALS. Well-known breweries participating include New Belgium Brewing Co. and Odell Brewing Co. of Colorado; Samuel Adams of Massachusetts; and Dogfish Head Craft Brewery of Delaware.
