Mostly Serious LLC has disclosed a minority investment from a well-known technology industry CEO in Springfield.
Thomas Douglas, CEO of information technology services provider JMark, is now a minority investor in Mostly Serious, a Springfield website design and digital marketing company, according to a news release issued early this afternoon.
Reached this afternoon, Johnson declined to disclose the financial terms of the minority investment, but he noted he and Mostly Serious President Spencer Harris remain majority owners. He said Douglas would serve as an adviser for Mostly Serious “as we continue to deepen our partnership.”
The investment from Douglas marks an expansion of an existing partnership between Mostly Serious and JMark related to artificial intelligence training and consulting in the area, officials say. Together, the organizations have trained more than 50 organizations through the AI Quest program launched at JMark's JBITS conference this year.
"Both our companies have a long history of driving innovation and guiding our clients through transformational changes. By deepening this partnership, we're not just enhancing technology – we're investing in people, empowering them to leverage AI in meaningful ways," Douglas said in the release.
The partnership additionally utilizes Mostly Serious' consulting division, Habitat Communication & Culture, to provide change management and leadership development along with the AI training.
"Our mission has always been to equip our region with the tools necessary to win in the digital world," Johnson said in the release. "Partnering with JMark accelerates that vision, bringing together top regional expertise to ensure our community remains at the forefront of AI adoption."
