Mormon church to cut 105-year-old ties to Boy Scouts

The Mormon church is severing its 105-year-old relationship with the Boy Scouts of America.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and BSA announced their intentions to part ways at the end of 2019.

LDS Church officials said the organization has grown from a "U.S.-centered institution" to a global one. It intends to start its own youth program that "serves its members globally."
