Evan Bennett, Executive Director of Springfield Ballet tells how Springfield Ballet evolved from a ballet school to putting on elaborate productions. He stresses that education, not only in dance but also in life, is at the heart of everything they do. He talks about the impact the ballet has had on Springfield and how they do so much more than just put on The Nutcracker at the holidays. In addition to the school and the productions, they have a community outreach program called Dance Chance that works with several Title I schools in Springfield giving children a 7 week course in dance and life wellness.
