More local companies pop up on Camp Barnabas list

Springfield Business Journal has obtained a complete list of companies that contributed materials and labor to TV’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” visit to Purdy’s Camp Barnabas Aug. 19–24. The total project’s value, officially undisclosed, was estimated at $1.3 million to $1.5 million, one of the most ambitious projects ever for the TV show.

Dozens of local companies and 3,000 volunteers contributed.

“There were a lot of Springfield-based companies out there,” said Stacey Hammit, owner of Springfield-based Carnahan-White Fence Co., which erected about 400 feet of permanent fence at the site. “It was a very special thing to see all these people come together and donate their time and their materials.”

Among the contributing entities based in Springfield or with a presence in the Springfield area are Carnahan-White Fence Co., Wood Smith Timbers Inc., Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Co. Inc., M & M Landscape, Sherman Engineering, Southwest Baptist University, Drury University, Olive Garden Italian Restaurant, Red Lobster Restaurant, Silver Dollar City Inc., Fabick Cat, Harry Cooper Supply Co., Waste Co. of America, Jack Henry & Associates, Meek’s The Builder’s Choice, Wickman Gardens Inc., Subway Sandwiches and Salads, KPC Tile & Stone Inc., American National Property and Causality Co., Bass Pro Shops, Carol Jones Realtors Inc., Cedar Creek Wholesale Inc., Chick-Fil-A, Environmental Works, Gerken Environmental Enterprises Inc., Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Lacey Brothers Retail Construction, Pella Window Store and Starbucks Coffee Co.
