The Springfield-Greene County and Christian County health departments announced new confirmed cases of the coronavirus. Christian County previously did not have any cases of the respiratory virus.
Between the two health departments, four new cases were reported yesterday and this morning. The two cases in Christian County represent the first outside Greene County in southwest Missouri, according to the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services.
Details about the Christian County residents who tested positive were not provided in a news release.
"As a part of our effort to protect the health of our citizens, a complete follow-up investigation has been started in reference to any increased risk these cases might have presented to the public," officials said in the release.
The Springfield-Greene County Health Department this morning announced the fifth and sixth cases of the virus. The fifth case is a known household contact of the third case, while the sixth case had a domestic travel history to a known infected area, according to a news release. Both have been voluntarily self-quarantining.

Mundis is being treated at Mercy Hospital Springfield, according to a front-desk employee at the hospital and a Facebook post from his son.
