Moody's to acquire Bureau van Dijk

Credit ratings agency Moody's Corp. signed a deal to purchase financial data company Bureau van Dijk for $3.3 billion.

Bureau van Dijk, which provides private company data for 220 million businesses, posted 2016 revenue of $281 million.

When the deal is completed, Bureau van Dijk would become part of Moody's Analytics' research, data and analytics division.
