Monsanto donates research center to Mississippi nonprofit

Monsanto Co. announced yesterday it donated its Mississippi research center to a local nonprofit.

The 150-acre Agronomy Center in Leland, Miss., was donated to the B.F. Smith Foundation.

The nonprofit plans to use the center for research on plant material adapted for the Mid-South region. It also plans to launch a science, technology, engineering and math program for high school students.
