The estimated value of the project is $670,000, McElmurry said, but determining the estimated cost is difficult because companies – many of them chamber members – have donated much of the labor and materials.
The building will provide growing room for the chamber, which now has about 255 members. There will be a community meeting room on-site and a meeting room for the chamber’s board of directors, outfitted with audio-visual equipment. McElmurry said chamber officials hope to move into the new building in January.
