The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has awarded the city of Monett more than $13 million in grant and loan funding to improve its drinking water system.
The funding, comprising a $2 million grant and a roughly $11 million low-interest loan, is earmarked for several projects, including the construction of a treatment facility for two drinking water wells to be designed to provide a treatment capacity of 1,800 gallons per minute. Other projects include the installation of roughly 6,500 linear feet of water lines and a 1,000-gallon-per-minute booster pump station, according to a news release.
The projects are expected to be complete in December 2014.
Funding comes from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund, which provides communities assistance with drinking water infrastructure needs, the release said.[[In-content Ad]]
