Tony Venute, owner of Mojo Pie Spa & Salon, said the site for his business, for which construction work now is being done, will be able to accommodate as many as 10 employees. He said those employees might be massage therapists, stylists, estheticians or manicurists.
"It's going to be a spa and a hair salon both," Venute said. "I want it to be kind of an intimate gathering (place). I don't want it to be a real warehouse' looking kind of deal where they just pack as many people in there."
Mojo Pie Spa & Salon is located in an approximately 2,500-square-foot building. Venute said it will have cathedral ceilings that will be about 30 feet high, a balcony and hardwood floors. The building also will have two fireplaces.
Venute is acting as his own contractor, but he said there are several subcontractors working on the project. Venute and architect Ben Goforth designed the project, which Venute said is worth an estimated $350,000 to $400,000.
The project is slated for completion June 1.
