That's the largest first six months of a year in MOB acquisitions, according to research from JLL.
JLL officials say 2017 could be on track to beat the full-year record of $9 billion set in 2015.
The largest purchase so far this year was $2.2 billion acquisition of the Duke Realty health care portfolio.
