Applicants are being sought for the Missouri Team Quality Award.
This is the third year for the award, which is sponsored in the southwest Missouri region by the Ozarks Quality Council.
According to a release, the purpose of the award is to recognize teams that have made significant contributions in achieving organizational or community improvement objectives.
"The team award process is also intended to provide visibility to team methods as a vehicle for encouraging others in using teams, and to help educate them
on the benefits of teams," the release states.
The contest is open to any team which has taken on a task, project or other activity between July 1997 and July 1998. An applying organization can be independent, community-based or a combination and can be operating in a non-profit or profit status.
To receive a brochure which outlines the award process and schedule, or to receive an application booklet, contact Bob Sherron, who is the southwest Missouri regional coordinator for the Missouri Team Quality Award. Sherron can be reached at 859-4014 or at Ozarks Quality Council, PO Box 11022, Springfield 65808-1022.
There is a $125 application entry fee to cover the costs of judging. One regional team will be selected to enter the statewide competition. The regional winners will be recognized at the Missouri Quality Award Conference being held in November.
The written application is due to the regional coordinator by July 1. The application form is 10 pages long. A panel of judges will review the applications, and teams in the high-scoring range will then give oral presentations.[[In-content Ad]]
