Mo. tax revenue collections rise through December

Missouri collected $4.06 billion in general revenue during the first half of the fiscal year through December, a 5.1 percent increase over the same six-month period of 2013.

Fiscal year 2015, starting July 1, gross collections by tax type:
  • Individual income tax collections increased 6.3 percent through December to $2.88 billion.
  • Sales and use collections moved up 3 percent to $1.01 billion.
  • Corporate income and franchise tax collections rose 3.3 percent to $269.3 million.
  • All other collection fell 5.8 percent to $176.4 million.
  • Refunds increased by 1.2 percent to $269.5 million.
The fiscal year-to-date figures were bolstered by December collections of $841.1 million, a 10.7 percent jump, according to a news release.

Compared to December 2013, last month’s individual income tax collections rose 9.6 percent; sales and use tax collections increased 4.8 percent; corporate income and franchise tax collection jumped 19.8 percent; all other collections fell 19.8 percent; and refunds decreased by 25.8 percent.
