Posted online
The Show-Me State slipped three spots to No. 26 in CNBC's annual report of America’s Top States for Business.

The position of all 50 states was determined based on more than 60 measures of competitiveness, with states receiving points based on their rankings in each metric.

Missouri lost the most ground in the economy category, falling into a tie for 33rd this year compared to 15th last year, and it realized its largest gain in business friendliness to No. 15 from No. 29 in 2014.

Minnesota topped the list, followed by Texas, and Hawaii came in last after No. 49 West Virginia.

Among neighboring states, Nebraska landed at No. 7; Iowa, 10; Tennessee, 17; Illinois, 19; Kansas, 24; Oklahoma, 31; Arkansas, 32; and Kentucky, 36.
