Missouri's general revenue collections totaled $759.6 million in December, strengthening month-to-month and fiscal year-to-date totals.
Last month's collections represent a 5.1 percent increase from $722.9 million in December 2012. Fiscal 2014 general revenue collections increased 2.8 percent to $3.87 billion through December from $3.77 billion a year prior, according to a news release.
Fiscal 2014 collections by tax type through December:
- Individual income tax collections climbed 2.8 percent to $2.71 billion from $2.63 billion a year ago.
- Sales and use tax collections rose 6.4 percent to $979.6 million from $920.9 million.
- Corporate income and franchise tax collections grew 21.5 percent to $260.6 million from $214.5 million.
- All other collections decreased by 20.7 percent to $187.1 million from $236 million.
- Refunds rose 10.6 percent to $266.2 million from $240.7 million.
Compared to the same month of 2012, December individual income tax collections rose 3.6 percent; sales and use tax collections increased 25.9 percent; corporate income and franchise tax collections improved by 3.2 percent; all other collections grew by 36.2 percent; and refunds jumped 106.8 percent, according to the release.
