Missouri's gas average fell 1.5 cents during the past week, leading the state to again rank second on GasBuddy.com's
list of the lowest averages in the nation.
At $2.93 per gallon this morning, Missouri's average was second only to Oklahoma, with its average of $2.90 per gallon.
The Show-Me State's average represents a 9.4-cent increase from a month ago but a 12.2-cent decrease from a year ago. The U.S. average, which decreased 0.7 cents during the past week to $3.24 per gallon yesterday, increased 3.9 cents month-to-month but dropped 10.4 cents year-to-year, according to a news release.
This morning in Missouri, the lowest price of gas, $2.72 per gallon, was available at four filling stations in Osage Beach. At $3.29 per gallon, the highest price of gas was selling at a station in St. Louis, according to MissouriGasPrices.com.
Springfieldians could purchase gas at a low price of $2.78 per gallon at Sam's Club stores, 745 W. El Camino Alto Drive and 3660 E. Sunshine St. Elsewhere in the city, prices ranged from $2.93 per gallon to $2.97 per gallon.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil was trading at $92.65 per barrel as of 10:50 a.m., compared to $92.72 per barrel a week ago. Light sweet crude oil futures for January were trading at $97.78 per barrel on the
New York Mercantile Exchange.
