Mo. ranks 20th in 2014 job growth

The Show-Me State ranked No. 20 in the nation for 2014 job growth with 44,700 new jobs, according to U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data. Texas easily led all states with 457,900 jobs created last year.

Only five other states created more than 100,000 jobs in 2014: California, 320,300; Florida, 230,600; North Carolina, 114,500; Georgia, 108,300; and New York, 105,300.

Mississippi bottomed out the list with 200 jobs created last year.

From November to December, Missouri added 1,700 jobs, tying it with Kansas for 31st place. The Lone Star State posted the most job growth from November to December with 45,700.
