Mo. Public Service Commission chairman stepping down

Posted online
Robert Kenney, the chairman of the Missouri body that regulates utilities, is stepping down when his six-year term expires in August.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Kenney was appointed by Gov. Jay Nixon to the Missouri Public Service Commission in 2009 and was named chairman in March 2013.

“The business of providing utility services is undergoing a profound evolution,” Kenney said in a statement announcing his Aug. 7 departure. “Challenges and opportunities associated with this evolution require an increased emphasis on consumer education and outreach.

"These challenges and opportunities also require continued examination of our regulatory processes and willingness to craft creative policy solutions to increasingly complex issues.”
