Mo. marijuana campaign hires top political consultant

A political consultant who worked on successful campaigns for Gov. Jay Nixon and Secretary of State Jason Kander has been hired by a Missouri marijuana advocacy group.

Jack Cardetti debuted in his new role as consultant for New Approach Missouri during a game-day fundraiser this week at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, according to The Associated Press.

As of June 30, New Approach Missouri had about $26,000 to spend on the campaign designed to put a medical pot proposal on the 2016 ballot.
