Mo. House backs border-war truce bill

On Tuesday, the Missouri House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed a bill that would prohibit the use of state incentives to attract Kansas City-area businesses across state lines.

The bill, which is similar to one passed by the Senate last week, was approved with a 151-3 vote., according to the Kansas City Business Journal

The measure, designed as a truce between Kansas and Missouri state lawmakers, would take effect only if the Kansas Legislature or Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback approves similar legislation.
