Missouri real estate agents sold fewer homes in April, but at increased prices compared to a year ago.
Agents sold 5,600 homes last month, a 4.4 percent decrease compared to the 5,856 homes sold in April 2013. The homes sold this April, however, rose in price by 4 percent to $155,465 compared to $149,435 a year ago, according to a Missouri Association of Realtors news release.
Homes sold in April also sat on the market for less time. Last month, homes sold were on the market for an average 131 days, compared to 135 days in April 2013.
Home sales generated $880 million during April, a 14 percent gain over March.
According to MAR, the home sales and pricing statistics last month are reflective of the spring selling season.[[In-content Ad]]
