MO gas prices average $2.61 a gallon

Missouri gasoline prices averaged $2.61 a gallon Oct. 31, an increase of 4.3 cents since the preceding Sunday, according to a MissouriGasPrices.com news release.

As of 9:40 a.m., the lowest gas prices in the state, $2.41 a gallon, could be found in Carthage at Casey's, 2214 Fairlawn Drive. The lowest Springfield prices were $2.45 a gallon - at Sam's Club, 745 W. El Camino Alto St., according to the site.

The state's average price per gallon is 6.7 cents higher than a month ago and 6 cents higher than a year ago, the release said.

Missouri's gas prices are below the Oct. 31 countrywide average of $2.80 a gallon.

The national average is 9.2 cents per gallon higher than the last month and 12.9 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.
