Average Missouri retail gasoline prices rose 5.8 cents during the past week, averaging $2.92 a gallon on Jan. 2, 13 cents shy of the national average.
The state's average is 15.9 cents higher than a month ago and 39 cents high than a year ago, according to a GasBuddy.com news release.
As of 9:15 a.m., the lowest cost for regular gas in the state could be found at Murphy USA in Poplar Bluff for $2.73 a gallon. The highest cost of gas listed was at two Shell location in Town and Country for $3.09 a gallon.
The cheapest gas in Springfield could be found for $2.84 a gallon at four locations: Conoco, 1821 W. Grand St.; Conoco, 2720 W. Kearney St.; Independent, 700 N. Benton Ave.; and Casey's, 703 S. Scenic Ave., according to MissouriGasPrices.com.
The national average, $3.05 a gallon, has increased 12.8 cents per gallon in the last month and 39.6 cents per gallon in the last year.[[In-content Ad]]
