Missouri's average retail gasoline prices fell 6.1 cents during the past week, averaging $2.89 a gallon Jan. 30.
State prices are 3.3 cents per gallon lower than a month ago but 46.3 cents per gallon higher than a year ago, according to a GasBuddy.com news release.
As of 10:10 a.m., the cheapest gas in the state was $2.73 a gallon at R&P Oil in Cape Girardeau. The most expensive gas was $3.09 a gallon at Phillips 66 in Millstadt.
The cheapest gas in Springfield could be found for $2.81 a gallon at Sam's Club, 745 W. El Camino Alto St., according to MissouriGasPrices.com.
The national average decreased 0.6 cents during the past week to $3.08 a gallon, 3.6 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and 41 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.
The U.S. price per barrel for crude oil was $88.57 as of Jan. 21, compared to $74.29 a year ago, according to the
U.S. Energy Information Administration.
