MO gas costs edge closer to national average

Missouri average retail gas prices rose 7 cents during the past week to an average of $2.84 a gallon yesterday, 12 cents shy of the national average, $2.96 a gallon.

The state's average is 8.8 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and 43.1 cents higher than a year ago, according to a GasBuddy.com news release.

As of 9:50 a.m., the lowest price for regular gas in the state could be found for $2.65 a gallon in Camdenton, at two stations: Casey's and Shell. The highest price per gallon, $2.92, could be found in St. Peters at Phillips 66.

The lowest cost for gas in Springfield could be found for $2.74 a gallon at Conoco, 1821 W. Grand St.

Nationally, the $2.96 price point average increased 1.3 cents per gallon during the week, is 7.4 cents higher than a month ago and has risen 35.4 cents from last year.[[In-content Ad]]
