Mo. gas average rises 6 cents

Missouri’s average gas price increased 6.4 cents during the past week to $2.06 per gallon yesterday, according to GasBuddy.com’s survey of 3,940 filling stations in the state.

Show-Me State prices on Sunday were 12.4 cents higher than a month ago but 44.1 cents lower than a year ago. The national average, which rose 6.1 cents during the past week to $2.28 per gallon yesterday, is 15.1 cents higher than a month ago but 46.1 cents lower than a year ago, according to a news release.

The Missouri average moved up another cent today, ranking the state seventh on GasBuddy’s list of the lowest averages in the nation. At $2.04 per gallon, Mississippi topped the list, while California was last with its $2.80 per gallon average.

The Kum & Go station at 777 E. Battlefield Road had the lowest gas price in Missouri this morning, at $1.86 per gallon. The highest price was recorded at $2.69 per gallon in Ladue. Elsewhere in the Queen City, prices ranged from $1.93 to $1.99 per gallon.

West Texas intermediate crude oil was trading at $48.02 per barrel as of 9:53 a.m., compared to a 52-week range of $31.61 to $63.90. Light sweet crude futures for July were trading at $48.05 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
