Missouri's gas average increased by 6 cents during the past week to $3.15 per gallon.
At its current average, Missourians have witnessed a 13-cent increase from a month ago but a 48-cent decrease compared to the same time last year, according to GasBuddy.com data.
The U.S. average was $3.35 per gallon this morning. On GasBuddy's
list of the lowest prices in the nation, Montana ranked first, with an average of $3.07 per gallon, while Missouri held the No. 8 spot. At $4.05 per gallon, Hawaii was at the bottom of the list this morning.
In Missouri, the lowest price for gas statewide was available for $2.84 per gallon at two filling stations in Columbia. The highest price, $3.33 per gallon, was selling at a station in Cape Girardeau, according to GasBuddy's MissouriGasPrices.com.
Springfieldians could purchase gas at a low price of $3.06 per gallon at Sam's Club, 3660 E. Sunshine St. and 745 W. El Camino Alto Drive; Conoco, 2785 S. West Bypass; and Conoco, 1207 W. Kearney St.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil was trading at $100.30 per barrel as of 11:32 a.m. Light sweet crude oil futures for March were trading at $100.77 per barrel on the
