The average retail price of gasoline in Missouri dropped another 12 cents during the past week to $3.19 per gallon yesterday. During the prior week that ended Oct. 21, the state's average fell 18 cents.
Missouri continued to hold the No. 2 spot on GasBuddy.com's
list of the lowest gas averages by state. This morning, Missouri's average of $3.18 per gallon was beaten only by Oklahoma, at $3.16 per gallon.
During the week of Oct. 22-28, the U.S. average decreased by 9.6 cents to $3.56 per gallon, 23.1 cents lower than a month ago and 10.2 cents higher than a year ago. The Missouri average dropped 42.8 cents month-to-month and was unchanged from the same day in 2011, according to a GasBuddy.com news release.
The lowest price for gas in Missouri this morning was available at a filling station in Wentzville for $2.96 per gallon. The highest price of gas, $3.59 per gallon, was selling at a station in Cape Girardeau, according to
MissouriGasPrices.com.
In Springfield, the lowest price of $3.17 per gallon was available at Sam's Club, 745 W. El Camino Alto Drive.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil was trading at $86.10 per barrel as of 8:57 a.m., compared to a 52-week range of $77.56 to $109.95. Light sweet crude oil futures for November were trading at $85.80 per barrel on the
