Missouri's average retail gasoline prices fell 4.6 cents during the week of April 9-15 to $3.70 per gallon yesterday.
The state's average was 1.6 cents lower than a year ago and 3.8 cents lower than a month ago, while the national average, which dropped 1.4 cents during the week to $3.89 per gallon, was 9.1 cents higher than a month ago and 9.3 cents higher than a year ago, according to a GasBuddy.com news release.
The Missouri gas average edged down another cent to $3.69 per gallon this morning, ranking it No. 5 on GasBuddy.com's list of
lowest gas averages by state. At $3.60 per gallon, Wyoming had the lowest gas average in the country.
As of 9:17 a.m., the lowest gas price in the state could be found for $3.45 per gallon at a filling station in Excelsior Springs, according to MissouriGasPrices.com.
Sam's Club, 745 W. El Camino Alto Drive, had the lowest price in Springfield at $3.53 per gallon.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil was trading at $103 per barrel as of 9:19 a.m., up from $101.41 a week ago. Light sweet crude oil futures for May were trading at $102.58 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, according to the
CME Group.
