While employers grew their payroll ranks in February, Missouri’s seasonally adjusted rate was flat at 4.2 percent.
The Missouri Department of Economic Development
originally reported a 4.3 percent jobless rate for January but later revised it down a tenth of a point according to a news release.
Last month, employment grew by 9,400 jobs, following an increase of 5,800 in January. The leading industries in February were:
• accommodation and food services, 5,500 jobs;
• health care and social assistance, 2,100 jobs; and
• finance and insurance,1,400 jobs.
The U.S. unemployment rate
in February - not seasonally adjusted - was 4.9 percent.
