Mo. employers add 9,400 jobs in February

While employers grew their payroll ranks in February, Missouri’s seasonally adjusted rate was flat at 4.2 percent.

The Missouri Department of Economic Development originally reported a 4.3 percent jobless rate for January but later revised it down a tenth of a point according to a news release.

Last month, employment grew by 9,400 jobs, following an increase of 5,800 in January. The leading industries in February were:
    •    accommodation and food services, 5,500 jobs;
    •    health care and social assistance, 2,100 jobs; and
    •    finance and insurance,1,400 jobs.

The U.S. unemployment rate in February - not seasonally adjusted - was 4.9 percent.
