While Missouri’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate held steady at 5.5 percent in February, employers added 8,400 jobs.
The nonfarm payroll employment gain was led by education and health services, which added 4,100 jobs last month, according to a Missouri Department of Economic Development news release.
Other job increases were in construction, at 2,700; trade, transportation and utilities, at 2,400; and real estate, rental and leasing, at 1,300.
For the 12 months ended Feb. 28, Show-Me State employers increased nonfarm payrolls by 40,400 jobs, according to the release.
