Major League Baseball’s 30 clubs have a combined debt load of $8.3 billion, according to Commissioner Rob Manfred.
Manfred said in an interview with Sportico that the teams would post up to $3 billion in operational losses this year.
“We are going to be at historic high levels of debt,” Manfred said, citing the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the season.
