Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred yesterday said he's "not confident" there will be a 2020 season as team owners and the league debate with the MLB Players Association on pay.
"I'm not confident. I think there's real risk, and as long as there's no dialogue, that real risk is going to continue," Manfred said in an interview with ESPN.
Just last week, Manfred said the likelihood of a season occurring was "100 percent."
Negotiations continue on how player pay will be determined with a shortened season brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.
