The University of Missouri-Columbia received a $5 million estate gift.
The donation from Pat and Sandy Hiatte is slated to be split between the school of journalism and the botanic garden.
"From our world-class school of journalism to our unrivaled campus beauty, MU is dedicated to achieving excellence at every level. This gift ensures the continuity of our commitment," said Mun Choi, the university's president and chancellor.
