The University of Missouri's main campus in Columbia lost some $2 million in donations following campus unrest last fall.
Tom Hiles, the university's vice chancellor for advancement, said the lost funding was from seven to 10 large donors. Also, several who had pledged funding have rescinded their pledges.
Alleged racism incidents on campus led to protests, a hunger strike and the resignations of Mizzou President Tim Wolfe and Chancellor R. Bowen Loftin.
Hiles said some of the donors were angered by the protests themselves, with many feeling the university had given too much power to students. Others were angered by the actions of Melissa Click, an assistant professor of communications who was seen in a video calling for "some muscle" to remove a student journalist from a public protest area.
