The University of Missouri is seeking to overturn penalties by the NCAA Committee on Infractions.
The penalties follow allegations by a former athletics tutor that she completed coursework and took exams for 12 athletes in various sports.
The NCAA committee hit the university's football, baseball and softball teams with postseason bans. The decision is said to harm recruiting efforts and scholarships.
