Mizzou athletics director to step down

Jim Sterk, the University of Missouri's athletics director, is exiting the position.

Sterk said in an email to athletics department employees that he and university President Mun Choi decided he would step down “once a new leader is found.” He declined to comment when reached by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Sterk has two years left on his original seven-year contract.
